THE CONDUCT OF THE ONLINE PHASE
The Online Phase of the ISMS Conference (27-29 October) is similar to any ”conventional” academic conference with the exception that all the activities are conducted in a virtual environment.
The aim of the Online Phase is to support each author to improve her/his study by giving them both positive feedback as well as constructive criticism about their research. At the same time it provides opportunities for networking inside the academic community for future collaborations.
The ongoing two-week Offline Phase is an unprecedented opportunity in comparison to previous ISMS conferences: all the participants have already basic knowledge about the accepted abstracts and their research designs. Hence, the Online Phase is intended for building deeper understanding of the themes by focusing primarily on the authors’ conclusions and key takeaways.
The Online Phase consists of plenary sessions (i.e. opening and closing remarks, keynotes and daily wrap-ups) and parallel working group sessions. There are three parallel working group sessions moderated by Working Group Chairs: Tuesday 27 October 13:30 to 17:30 CET, Wednesday 28 October 12:00 to 15:00 CET and Wednesday 28 October 15:30 to 18:30 CET. Parallel working groups will use the very same Virtual Meeting Rooms as they did during the Offline Phase.
The Working Group Chairs may organize their parallel working group sessions as they prefer and also decide the time allocated for each author as well as the coffee breaks. Every Working Group will present their key takeaways (max. 5 minutes) in daily wrap-ups on Tuesday 27 October 18:00 to 19:00 CET and Wednesday 28 October 18:30 to 19:30 CET. The daily wrap-ups will take place in the same Virtual Main Auditorium (Zoom) as all the other plenary sessions.
The Online Phase ends with optional Business Meetings on Thursday 29 October 12:00 to 15:00 CET.
